Let's enjoy our new LED lights ...
All members and visitors are welcome to come and play on Friday, 23 February 2018 from 7.00pm to 10.00pm.  The club will cover the cost of the lights and no visitors' fees will apply.
Hoping for a warm, balmy summer evening.

We changed the format this year of our Christmas Party by holding our celebrations mid afternoon with a high tea instead of a late afternoon/evening.  We had approximately 50 people attend and the feedback is people enjoyed the format of playing tennis and sharing a plate and glass.

Thanks to all of you who contributed to the table and to Bill for organising the drinks.

Merry Christmas and  Happy New Year to our members, family and friends.

Our annual inter club challenge with Belrose Tennis Club was held on Saturday, 9 September 2017 at Belrose Tennis Club.

We enjoyed a lovely afternoon of tennis with the picture below of Adrian Diebold, the Belrose Club Captain showing a disappointed face at their loss of 20 to 12 sets.

Congratulations Forestville Park Tennis Club who returned the shield to our club.

Farewell to Chris and Sara Bird

IMG 0604

Our first scheduled day on 4 March 2017 playing for the annual President vs Captain Shield was washed out.
Fortunately, the sun shone Saturday, 11 March 2017 and 32 members enjoyed an afternoon of playing 21 point tie breaker sets.
Although a number of matches were close, the Captain managed to win the shield on the day.
Thanks to all that participated and i think we all agree, Brian looked fab in his hula skirt!

Every job needs a supervisor.

Winners are grinners.

On behalf of all members of Forestville Park Tennis Club, we wish Brian and
Paula Polack all the best with their move from Sydney to Coffs Harbour.

Brian you have been a member of the club for 11 years, 9 on the committee, 6
as President and 2 as Club Captain.

Your name is on the board a number of times over the last 11 years for
winning open and veterans' events in our club championships.

Thank you for the significant amount of hours and for all your hard work and
commitment you have contributed voluntarily to our club.

Brian's last match winning the vets mixed doubles 2016 club championships.

Inter Club Challenge against Belrose Tennis Club

On Saturday, 10 September Forestville hosted our annual challenge against the Belrose Tennis Club and had a significant loss of 20 sets to 10 therefore reluctantly passing the shield over to Belrose. Both clubs had 10 men and 6 ladies representing their club and we all enjoyed a lovely afternoon of competitive tennis. Looking forward to our re-match in 2017 where I'm sure we'll win the shield back to its rightful owners!

Ian Bray recognised by Tennis NSW for outstanding service

At the recent Apia International, our own Ian Bray was recognised by Tennis NSW for his outstanding contributions to officiating in tennis.  Ian has been involved as an official in a huge number of national and international tournaments (including the Australian Open) for a number of years and we would like to say a huge CONGRATULATIONS Ian for this recognition.  We know that there have been many, many hours of volunteer work and it’s great to see you formally acknowledged.

Ian, accompanied by his wife Leone and daughter Nicola, attended the inaugural Service to Tennis Lunch at the Apia International in Sydney where he was presented with the George Fletcher Memorial  Award.
